New Member Orientation Program
Our five- to eight-week Bonds of Sisterhood program helps new members learn about Fraternity and chapter life and the responsibilities of membership. These responsibilities include upholding Alpha Xi Delta ideals and standards, meeting financial obligations, pursuing personal and academic excellence, and participating in chapter activities.

To enhance the new member orientation process, Alpha Xi Delta created axidbook, a take-off on Facebook, which serves as a journal and learning guide. With wall posts that include fun facts about the organization, “flair” that teaches the proper use of our symbols, mock IM chats between our Founders to reinforce Fraternal values, and apps that encourage new members to demonstrate what they’ve learned, Alpha Xi Delta has made new member orientation fun and relevant.

Realize Your Potential: Alpha Xi Delta Member Development Program
Realize Your Potential: The Alpha Xi Delta Member Development Program, helps Sisters discern their strengths and develop skills to work with others in the chapter, on campus and beyond. It is a powerful and original program that focuses on self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management. Each month chapters complete one of 24 experiential learning sessions to help each member strengthen her skills in these areas.

Bridges: A Program for Seniors
Bridges is a program for collegiate members of Alpha Xi Delta in their senior year. The program helps them to explore their unique role as a senior in their chapter, encourages them to make the most of this time and educates them on membership in Alpha Xi Delta after college. This is an invaluable tool our chapters use to combat senior apathy and ensure active engagement in the chapter and Panhellenic community until graduation and beyond.
StrengthsQuest
Alpha Xi Delta partnered with the Gallup organization to bring StrengthsQuest to our chapters – a program that helps members discover and develop their greatest talents. Ultimately, StrengthsQuest helps members learn what they do best and build their lives on those talents. We know that WKU already uses StrengthsQuest, and we look forward to the opportunity to build this program even bigger through our new partnership.

Leadership Coaches
Through a generous grant from the Alpha Xi Delta Foundation, the Fraternity employs two staff members whose specific responsibilities include traveling and working hands-on with college chapters and colonies on building life skills. Much like Educational Leadership Consultants, these staff members are recent college graduates. Their work is focused strictly on providing our members with mentoring and coaching to inspire them to leverage their strengths, hone their leadership skills and form a salient vision of the future. Our Leadership Coaches have also provided StrengthsQuest training to campus organizations, which would be a great complement to WKU’s Student Leadership Development Program.

The Workout
Alpha Xi Delta invites chapter Membership Vice Presidents (MVPs) to attend The Workout, a four-day experience held multiple times throughout the summer, designed to give chapters a fitness plan for recruitment. The Workout provides MVPs powerful training on brand imaging, action planning and recruitment mechanics, turning each MVP into a Certified Personal Trainer with all the tools, resources and ideas she needs to make recruitment exceptional. The colony’s recruitment officers will attend at no cost.

Askey Grants
The Alpha Xi Delta Foundation enables our colonies and chapters to foster discussion on their campuses and in their broader communities through the Askey Grant, a grant created by the generous bequest of Bernice Askey, Rho Chapter at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. This grant allows chapters to sponsor speakers on issues of community importance, such as leadership development, alcohol education, character development, academic achievement, personal safety, career preparation, and health and wellness. The Askey Grant program promises to be powerful in sparking and enhancing conversations within the Western Kentucky University community, fostering our shared values in exciting ways.

UIFI and LeaderShape Grants
The Alpha Xi Delta Foundation awards grants each year that enable collegiate Alpha Xi Deltas to attend The LeaderShape Institute and the Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute. The LeaderShape Institute helps young adults achieve new insights, improve relationships, create effective teams and enhance their leadership skills. The Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute provides participants the opportunity to explore, define and enhance their leadership skills, personal awareness and Fraternity commitment.
